Series 4 & 5 Test Description

The 4th & 5th Series of the 2013 NRC is a combination Water Blind with a Dry Shot & a Land Blind with a Poison Bird. The wind has settled still coming out of the North. We are atop the levee in which Series 3 Water/Land marks where running toward. The mat is facing to the Northeast with the test beginning when the Handler signals for the Dry Shot from the gun station that is situated 91 yards from the mat to the North of the test. The dogs are faced with a channel of water that meanders to the North then back to the South making it near impossible to run a straight path. This Water Blind measures at 161 yards with the line to the blind as follows land, water, land, water, land, to the end with this snake-like body of water. A pretty test that is sure to require accurate casting. It is taking an average of 6 minutes per dog to complete this blind.

The Handler then moves about 10 yards to the North atop of the levee to another mat where they receive their dog from the Water Blind. The same gun station now throws a Poison Bird upon the Handler's signal. The dog then must run a Land Blind measuring 288 yards deep and to the North of the Water Blind. The line to this blind angles the leavy to the South of the fall area of the Poison Bird then angles the hill then angle across the road to a barrier of trees and bushes. This blind also takes an average of 6 minutes to complete.
