32. FC Vinwood’s Merle Haggard “Merle”, LM, Danny Farmer

Flyer: Creamed it!

SR: exited the water wide right of the holding blind driving up the hill to the road turning right to work back down to retrieve the bird.

LR: ran tight to the area of the SR kept driving up the hill hard past the road and hunted back down to retrieve the bird.


 


Re-Run 24. FC-AFC Tealcreek Patton’s Saber “Saber”, LM, Chris Hatch

Flyer: made a small loop to retrieve the bird.

SR: went into the mark under the arc and turned to retrieve the bird.

LR: took a sliver of the water and traveled straight to the bird Crushing it!


 


Conclusion Of Day 2

The test was called at 5:25 pm

There are roughly 26 dogs left to run Series 3 tomorrow. A single Test Dog will run at 6:30 am. The first competing dog will run at 7:00 am. The starting number will be dog # 33.

SR: drove up the hill behind the holding blind to the road and then turn back down to retrieve.

Flyer: Fantastic retrieve of the flyer.

SR: drove hard and deep to the road turned and came down to the area to retrieve the bird.

LR: traveled under the arc of the flyer station cont. on a great line straight to the area and retrieved the bird.

Flyer: made a few passes in the area before retrieving the bird.

SR: exited the water to the right and behind the holding blind driving to the road and hunted back to the area to retrieve the bird.

LR: great line traveled on the correct side of the mark drove under the arc to the road then turn back to retrieve the bird.

Flyer: drove deep and made a snappy retrieve.

SR: great mark scooping it up quick.

LR: drove under the arc of the flyer fading toward the leavy wide of the area driving to the hill then having to hunt his way back to the bird.

The sun continues to shine bright but the wind in now blowing constant out of the West, improving scenting conditions.

LR: Chalk-lined out the the area and front-footed the mark for an overall spectacular job!

SR: had a nice line to the far shore on the correct side, made a small loop to retrieve the bird.

LR: started out for the SR, bounced off the cover near water and pushed off driving to go deep of the LR. working his way back to the area to retrieve the bird.

SR: exited the water to the right of the holding blind est. a hunt behind the blind then made his way over to the bird.

Flyer: Hammered it!

SR: traveled a path at the holding blind, skimmed just to the right of it and made a loop back to retrieve the bird.

LR: traveled a great line slightly behind the holding blind drove up the hill then back down to the area to retrieve the bird.

LR: took a line wide left traveling toward the levvy, drove the levvy out-of-sight for several minutes before reappearing high and left on the hill side. Handler attempted to Handle dog to the bird without success having to Pick the dog Up from the test.

Flyer: got a long flyer and pinned the mark!

SR: drove into the water making a splash, exiting in the fall area for a rapid retrieve.

LR: drove hard on a mission, cont. to drive the hill, made a couple of loops back to retrieve the bird.

Flyer: had a small hunt to retrieve the bird.

SR: drove past bird under the arc made several passes around the area to retrieve the bird.

SR: drove under the arc a bit to quickly turn and retrieve the bird.

LR: had a great initial line faded a bit right while swimming drove deep crossing the road and hunted his way back to retrieve the bird.

Flyer: Front-Footed it!

SR: exited the water to the right behind the holding blind traveling up the hill to then make a quick loop over to retrieve the bird.

LR: drove out hard on the mission, exited the water square driving the hill behind the holding blind rapidly working his way back to the area to retrieve the bird.

Flyer:  dog turn himself in two to put on the brakes to reach for the birds.

SR: nice mark!

LR: traveled a great line to the fall area hung up a bit short and traveled down the hill hunting back toward the SR and had to be Handled to the LR.


 


86. FC Road Warriors Dieter Brock “Deets”, LM, Dave Rorem

Flyer: drilled it!

LR: took on a line that split the difference, committed to go long driving the hill behind the LR holding blind made one big loop down to retrieve the bird.

SR: traveled a path square to the water exiting right of the holding blind made a few loops working over to retrieve the bird.

 


85. FC Jazztime Montana Cowboy “Roper”, LM, Danny Farmer

Flyer: scooped up a live flyer, pretty mark!

SR: traveled behind the holding blind made one loop deep, and then back to the bird.

LR: started out well when exiting the water took a hard right behind the holding blind drove the hill then made a single giant loop back to the area to retrieve the bird clean.


 


Gun Change/Re-Bird/Conditions Report

Again our workers amaze with the speed in which they are re-birding and changing out the gunner's. Way To Go Guys!!!

The conditions are favorable for some and not so for others. The sun is high in the sky shinning bright with no cloud cover. The wind has been a bit tricky the last couple of contestants. Blowing briskly for several minutes out West, Northwest then laying down next to nothing at the mere blink of an eye.

SR: skimmed the back of the holding blind and went straight to the bird.

LR: exited behind the holding blind, made two quick loops deep and then back down to retrieve the bird.

LR: traveled a nice line under the arc of the mark cont. to drive up the hill and then hunted her way back to the bird.

The warmth of the South is wonderful with the temperature gradually rising, currently 72'F. The sun is shinning bright in this blue sky with a gentle breeze remaining out of the West.

SR: entered the water right of the holding blind, dog corrected his line in the water exited the water near the area under the arc to retrieve the bird.

LR: took a great initial line tight to the flyer station, enter the water with a splash, drove deep and right of the holding blind up the hill made several passes hunting before coming up with the bird.

came to the line 9;31 am

Flyer: Front-Footed it!

SR: traveled a nice line to the water's edge hung up short est hunt on the incorrect shore before entering the water swimming to the area to retrieve the bird.

LR: traveled a nice line at the area of the bird swam the entire pond exiting just wide of the area and drove deep then had to work his way back to the bird.

SR: traveled  a correct line to the bird drove past the area under the arc turned right est. hunt deep and right of the holding blind before working back to the area to retrieve the bird.

LR: traveled a similar line as the SR squared the pond exiting right  of the SR cont. to drive the hill deep of SR before the dog was Handled to the LR.

LR: traveled a line similar to that of the SR, drove deep deep up the hillside behind the LR holding blind hunted the hillside for a bit before working over to the area to make the retrieve.

Flyer:  stepped on it!

SR: bird made a nice visible splash in the grass. traveled a direct line to the area through the pond made several passes in the area before retrieving the bird.

LR: traveled a tight line behind the flyer station entering the water hard with a big splash, exited the water just wide of the bird driving deep and worked her way quickly back to the bird for a clean retrieve.

Flyer: drilled it!

SR: enter the water on a correct line, squared the pond and exited water behind the gun station, and made a turn toward the area to make his way over retrieving the bird.

LR: drove hard on a mission, exited the water a bit wide of the bird and a deep then swiftly turned back traveled down the hill to make the retrieve.

Flyer: great mark!

SR: drove into the water under the arc and rapidly turned to retrieve the bird for a nice mark!

LR: made a straight chalk line directly to the area and retrieved the bird for a job well-done.
